About This Project

Ask
  • Provide structural integrity to a slowly failing cinderblock retaining wall.
  • Make their backyard useable for the first time in over 30 years
  • Replace a rotten wood tree box

What We Did

We reinforced the cinderblock wall with rebar and 8"-12" of concrete from top to bottom, adding a wood and aluminum railing on top. This provided the structural support needed, as well as additional storage beside their shed. Thirty steps we built down the sloping backyard, with five retaining walls rebuilt, and landings extended for each one. Wood railings follow the steps down. The tree box was upgraded from 4x4 wood to 6x6, to provide additional strength, longevity, and depth for their garden bed.
